Our diamonds are exclusively cultivated in our partner laboratories around the world. Our team of dedicated North American jewelry designers and gemologists expertly crafts our rings and jewelry in Toronto and New York. When it comes to our custom pieces, like engagement rings, our designers collaborate directly with you, our valued customer, to transform your vision into reality. 

Our one-of-a-kind diamond experience at the Couple storefront in Toronto’s Yorkville Village is open for appointments and walk-ins. You are also welcome to book an online appointment with our Diamond Concierge.

Yes, our diamonds are authentic and 100% genuine. They are cultivated through organic processes within a laboratory, possessing identical chemical and atomic properties to their mined counterparts. The primary means by which a skilled gemologist can differentiate between a Couple diamond originating in a lab and one from a mine is by referencing its distinctive identification number.

Same rocks, different habitats. Though they share the same geological origins, there's a distinct contrast in their birthplaces. Mined diamonds emerge from deep within the Earth, while our diamonds are meticulously cultivated within a state-of-the-art laboratory. Within this controlled environment, we've perfected the growth conditions to expedite the creation of an identical raw diamond in a shorter time frame.

No. And neither are mined diamonds. We’ve replicated the process that happens underground in our lab, so it creates unique raw stones with the same imperfections you’d find in naturally mined stones. Just like a mined diamond, our lab-grown diamonds come out as raw stones that need to be cut and polished.

Little known fact—the entire diamond grading process is subjective. We found inconsistencies amongst the largest third-party diamond grading organizations. Our diamonds are first certified by these independent organizations, then the diamonds go through our multistep inspection process and only the best are personally selected by our in-house gemologist for you. We are meticulous so you can shop confidently. Two diamonds that may look the same on paper could have a drastically different appearance in person—that's where the Couple Standard comes in to determine the best of the best. Our standard optimizes the cut, colour and clarity balance so that your diamond is flawless and colourless to the naked eye. 

Unlike online competitors, we are not a marketplace. We don’t let third party wholesalers list their diamonds on our site, and only Couple diamonds are sold on our site. We do this because we have strict standards for our diamond engagement rings. In order to offer the highest quality diamonds, we vertically integrated our entire business. It took a lot of work, but we think it’s 100% worth the effort.

We have a wide range of diamond shapes available on our site including Round, Oval, Pear, Cushion, Radiant, Marquis, Princess and Emerald and our expert gemologists can also help you with other more complex or rare shapes.  If you don’t see what you are looking for please connect with out diamond concierge who will be happy to help. 

Yes, we follow the industry standard practice of using rhodium plating in order enhance the appearance, properties and durability of 18k white gold.

Yes, we offer free resizing for 60 days.  But if you need longer for maybe a proposal don’t hesitate to let us know and we can most likely accommodate your timing. 

We don’t currently offer insurance directly through Couple but here is a guide as to the best ways to insure any fine jewelery.

If you do not have access to ring appraiser please contact us and we can guide you in the right direction.

Unfortunately not. We take great pride in the quality of our diamonds and the craftsmanship of our settings and have curated a broad collection of fine jewelry to meet the style and preferences of our customers.

All Couple diamonds in our custom designs include a certificate of authenticity from an independent third party grading agency (IGI, GIA) with a matching identification number microscopically laser-inscribed on the thin perimeter of the diamond. Please note that melee and smaller diamonds in earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings will not be provided with individual certificates.

The IGI and GIA are leading third-party diamond grading organizations. Each certificate is unique to your custom diamond and provides a diamond identification number that is laser-inscribed in your diamond. Please note that melee and smaller diamonds in earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings will not be provided with individual certificates.

FAQ - Payment, Shipping and Returns

We ship to the United States, Canada and other international destinations subject to jewelry import restrictions and duties.

Shipping is free for Canadian and US orders. For International Orders over $2,500 US, shipping is also free. On all other orders shipping costs will be calculated before check-out.

Yes, your purchase will be subject to a country-specific assessment of duties and taxes.

We ship all orders via FEDEX or similar shipping companies. Every order is provided with an order tracking number.

We process all orders within 1 business day. Our goal is to have custom rings/jewelry shipped within 15 business days and all other jewelry within 5 business days. 

Yes. Because of the value of the order, we require a signature for all orders.

Certainly. Many of our customers will have their order sent to the office so the surprise isn’t at risk if it’s shipped to their shared home.

When you place an order you will receive a tracking ID that can be found in your email receipt. Click here to enter your order number for updated shipping status.  If you can’t find your tracking number please “Contact Us” link and we’ll get it sorted out right away.  

We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our rings. If your Couple ring is damaged, a $50 deposit will be taken to cover the cost of shipping and an evaluation by our in-house jewelers. The deposit is refunded for all warrantied repairs or applied to approved repairs that are not covered under the lifetime warranty. If an uncovered repair is not approved, the deposit will be applied to the return shipping. If a warranty issue is found, we will gladly repair or replace the ring free of charge.

We offer financing on all of our products through our partners at Affirm, Inc. Financing is not available in all jurisdictions. Make easy monthly payments over 3, 6, or 12 months, subject to credit check and approval. See www.affirm.com/help for more details.

60 day returns + resizing

Take your time to get to know your Couple ring. If for any reason you aren’t satisfied, simply return it within 60 days for a resize, exchange or full refund. We’ll even cover the return 2-day shipping, to make things as simple as possible. When it comes to a life-long purchase like this one, everything should feel just right.

Free returns are available to all Canadian and US customers and is limited to 2 per customer. Engraved rings and eternity bands cannot be returned. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Return + Exchange process

To return or exchange your purchase:

  1. Call us at 1-647-846-7375 (Canada) or 1-888-490-4712 (US Toll-free)  Within 2 business days, we will email you packing instructions and a pre-paid, fully-insured Fedex label.
  2. Take your Couple ring and label to the nearest Fedex location. They will have the necessary packaging materials for you.
  3. All refunds will be processed within 14 days and refunded to the original payment method.

Damaged items

All returned items must be undamaged and unchanged, in “new and unused condition.” We cannot accept any jewelry for return that shows signs of wear or alteration.

Improperly packaged items

Packages shipped beyond the 60-day return window or sent without a return authentication number will not be eligible for refund or exchange.

We do not have an upgrade policy but each customer is eligible for a 10% discount on a second Couple purchase.
